Brand Guidelines

Consistency is key to building a strong, recognizable brand, and the SEU Network’s success depends on a unified visual and messaging strategy. These brand guidelines serve as a blueprint, ensuring that every SEU Network location aligns with the larger SEU identity while maintaining its unique local expression.

All marketing materials must be approved by SEU Creative (SEU’s Marketing department) before being printed or shared digitally.

Branding Options

As a site, you are responsible for creating your site’s unique brand. There are two ways that your site can go with your brand:

Create a unique look and feel for your ministry program’s brand. This includes your site’s name, colors, fonts, logos, etc. You may create your own unique brand for your site, as long as SEU branding elements are not included.
Note: If your site has a separate ministry program and would like to create a logo for this program, this logo cannot incorporate SEU’s name or logo elements in any way. This logo must also be submitted for approval before distribution.

Use the unique SEU logo provided to your site by SEU Creative. Two logo options are available for use. Logos will be provided in full color, and in black and white, and cannot be altered in any way.

Branding Elements

If your site chooses to incorporate SEU’s brand, the following branding elements are a part of SEU’s brand that you may use:

Fonts:

  • Sans serif: Gotham
  • Serif: Chronicle
  • Web: Montserrat

Note: SEU Creative cannot provide these font files. Your site is responsible for purchasing licenses for any fonts that you choose to use.

These color codes have been adopted for consistent use across all SEU branding.

Logo Guidelines

Overview
These guidelines outline the proper use of the university logo for our Network partners. The university logo is trademarked and must be used in accordance with these standards to maintain brand integrity and recognition.

Trademark Protection: The university logo is a registered trademark and cannot be altered in any way. This includes modifications to its design, colors, or proportions.

Do:

  • Use the approved color versions.
  • Ensure the logo is high resolution for both print (300 DPI) and digital (72 DPI) use.
  • Maintain the aspect ratio when resizing.

Don’t:

  • Alter the logo’s colors, fonts, or proportions.
  • Use the logo in a way that implies endorsement by the university if not explicitly approved.
  • Overlay text or images on top of the logo.

Logo Formats: SEU Creative provides site logos in two formats to suit different media needs:

  1. .EPS format – This is a high-quality vector format ideal for print applications. It allows for crisp, scalable graphics without losing quality, making it perfect for items like banners, posters, and other printed materials.

  2. .PNG format – This is a raster format suitable for digital use on websites and social media. PNGs support transparent backgrounds and work well in smaller sizes, maintaining good visual quality for digital screens.

All materials featuring the university logo must be submitted for approval prior to distribution. Please send your designs to kmenglish@seu.edu for review.

For any additional inquiries or specific requests, please contact Kennedi English at kmenglish@seu.edu.

Sites Using SEU's Name — Customized SEU Partner Logo

Sites that use SEU’s brand are required to follow these guidelines when referencing their partnership with SEU. The SEU logo should be used in a way that reflects the university’s standards, ensuring brand consistency and clarity.

  • Contextual Use: The SEU logo is to be used only when directly referencing the partnership between your church and Southeastern University.
  • Placement: Position the SEU logo alongside any mention of the partnership. Avoid positioning it as the primary logo on materials or in a way that suggests co-ownership of content with your church’s logo.
  • Spacing: Leave adequate spacing around the SEU logo, at least the height of the “S” in “SEU,” ensuring it is visually separated from other design elements.
  • Proportion: The SEU logo must be visually subordinate to the church’s logo in terms of size, ensuring the church remains the primary brand represented.
  • Minimum Size: For readability, the SEU logo must be no smaller than 1 inch (2.54 cm) in width on printed materials and 72 pixels in width for digital platforms.
  • Approved Materials: The SEU logo can be used on church-produced printed pieces (such as informational brochures, flyers, and posters) and on the church’s official website to acknowledge the partnership.
  • Prohibited Usage: Do not use the SEU logo on merchandise (including apparel, accessories, or giveaway items), social media posts, advertisements, or non-SEU-related materials without explicit approval from SEU.
  • Approved Colors: The SEU logo may only be used in the following approved formats:
    • Full Color: Use only on white or light-colored backgrounds to maintain clarity and contrast.
    • Single Color: Black or white versions of the SEU logo may be used as appropriate for visibility on dark or light backgrounds, respectively.
    • No Alterations: Do not change the logo’s color, alter its opacity, or add effects.

Sites Not Using SEU's Name - SEU Network Logo

For sites operating outside of SEU’s main brand, the following guidelines must be followed when using the SEU Network logo. These instructions ensure consistent representation across all partnership locations while maintaining the SEU brand’s integrity.

  • Placement: Always use the SEU Network logo in conjunction with your church’s primary logo (not your program logo). The SEU Network logo should be placed alongside, not above or below, your church’s logo to maintain an equal visual balance.
  • Spacing: Maintain a minimum clear space around the SEU Network logo, equal to the height of the “S” in “SEU,” to prevent crowding or blending with other elements.
  • Proportion: The SEU Network logo should be the same size as the church’s logo in height or width to indicate partnership.
  • Minimum Size: To ensure readability, the SEU Network logo must be no smaller than 3 inches wide in printed materials or 72 pixels wide on digital platforms.
  • Approved Materials: The SEU Network logo may be used on official printed materials (such as brochures, flyers, and posters), your church’s website, graphics, digital ads, merchandise, and other materials being used to show your site’s partnership with SEU.
  • Prohibited Usage: Do not use the SEU Network logo by itself on any pieces created by your site. This logo must only be used in conjunction with your church’s logo. Do not use this logo with your program’s logo in any instance.
  • Approved Colors: Use the SEU Network logo in the following approved color schemes:
    • Full Color: Black circle with SEU Network Logo (Red Flame)
      • Recommended Usage
    • Single Color – Black: White circle with all-black SEU Network Logo
    • Single Color – White: Black circle with all-white SEU Network Logo
  • No Alterations: Do not alter the colors, opacity, or any other elements of the SEU Network logo.
